De accessoire-website iLounge heeft uit een bron, die het zou moeten weten, vernomen dat de iPod touch een achterkant krijgt die gelijk zou zijn aan de achterkant van de MacBook Pro. De eerste generatie iPod touch had een zo goed als zwarte, platte achterkant en de tweede en derde een zilveren, aluminium achterkant die ronder is. De nieuwe iPod krijgt geen glas zoals de iPhone 4 maar vormen zoals de MacBook Pro.

Hij gaat dus, volgens deze bron, lijken op de eerste generatie iPod touch met wat verbeteringen wat gaat lijken op de achterkant van de MacBook Pro.
